Some things still elude us in words, even though we can explain most cases.
A group of people decided to post strange, unexplained encounters online. They told stories of reading a letter from the future, forgetting the whole day, and finding out a friend’s secret in a dream.
Although it sounds like a movie script, these real events happened.
“I know who you are.
“I was standing in line at Target once. In front of me in the checkout lane was a mother with her (I assume) 3-year-old child. I’ve never met them in my life. A mother walks up to a shopping cart with a toddler in it to help me unload it, the child stares at me, he looks and laughs and says my first name, it was even weirder because my first name is unusual.1961 Mycenea / Reddit

“As an adult, I told my mother about a dream I had in which I was in this house. It had two floors, two bedrooms, and an L-shaped staircase. It was brown.
I described this mansion from my dream in great detail.
In any case, the home I outlined seems to be where I was born. Unlike birth, birth. Even though my family moved out of the house they lived in two years before I was born, when I was seven or eight months old, I was born in a hospital.
At first, I believed my brain might have picked it up from the pictures I had seen, but to be honest, none of the images we had when I was that young showed the amount of detail. It was not possible to show much of the background as it was mostly close-ups. My best guess is that I knew anything about this house, let alone its layout, furniture arrangement, etc., other than the fact that my brain seems to be able to recall very old and vague memories.” Reddit/AnxiousRiddle
A warning from the future
“My mother came to stay with us for a few days a few years ago when my wife was expecting our second child. One day early in the evening, my mother asked for an envelope, paper, and a pen. I got the paper she was writing on.”, sealed.” in an envelope, put it in your pocket, she added.
After thirty minutes my wife said she was in labor and it was time to go to the hospital. So we did, and our second daughter was born at 3:45, approximately nine hours later. She was twenty inches long and weighed eight pounds, eleven ounces.
Since this was before cell phones, I contacted my mother from the hospital to share the good news. Picking up the phone, she remarked, “Before you say anything, open the envelope.” Yes, yes. It stated:
“Girl, 20 inches, 8 pounds, 11 ounces, 3:45 AM”
That paper has been with me for years. I went to our vault for the documents where we stored them after my mother died, but they were missing.” Reddit / GullyF
spectral woman
“My boy was in my room when he wasn’t even three years old, and he kept telling me that the lady was in his and his sister’s room. I’d urge him to curl up in bed with me when I’m half asleep.” and ignored it.
He then crawled into my bed only to wake me up every few minutes to tell me about the ‘lady’. And he said, “She was at my bedroom door.” I pick him up and lead him out of my room in the dark to show him that there is no lady there and that we should go to bed.
I say: “You see, there is no lady there,” we stand in the corridor. “Mom, it’s over there,” he says, pointing down a hallway where there is absolutely nothing to see. That’s the woman! And he lives in this house.
Where he pointed there was nothing—not even a shadow.
I took him back to bed and tried not to show that he was scaring me. He immediately fell asleep and I lay awake for hours believing that this “woman” in my over a hundred-year-old apartment must be hanging around watching me sleep.” Reddit / Kookenhaken
Messages that are summarized
“Even though I believe it’s a coincidence, it’s still strange.
I can call (for lack of a better term) a guy to text me. He is a special boy who was one of our closest friends when we were 12 or 13 years old. When we left for high school, we stopped hanging out. Sometimes I consider texting him and he usually hears back within ten minutes. It is strange and only occurs in this particular boy. After a year of not talking, he randomly messaged me when I was considering reaching out to him again. When I asked him why he sent me the message, he said he had a strange feeling that almost made him do it. It’s strange, but most likely just a coincidence.” Reddit / whittling
Pregnancy indicator
One night I had a dream that friend 1, a former co-worker with whom I often don’t get along, was expecting a baby. In the dream, I was back in my former office and told to cover for her. “Oh no, I moved away from you last year,” I exclaimed. She was heavily pregnant when she showed up and said, “Please, it’s only during my vacation.”
I joked with my husband about how horrible it would be for me to leave that place and I had to go back because it felt weird.
It seemed to me, maybe a week later, that Friend 2, someone I don’t talk to very often, was expecting it too.
The following week I bumped into a friend 1 somewhere and we laughed about my funny pregnancy-related dream. He informs me that he is waiting and they haven’t told ANYONE yet. I brush it off with a smirk and then confide in my husband. “You didn’t think girlfriend 2 was pregnant? You should call her,” he quips. Friend 2 and I are too old to start over and we both have older kids so it’s even fun. I shrug my shoulders.
The other day I was talking to friend 2 about that funny dream. Turns out they didn’t tell anyone she was pregnant. insane!” Reddit / Whohead 12
A day that was forgotten
“Wednesday night around six I went to bed. When I woke up it was Friday. When yesterday was Wednesday I asked my mom why today is Friday.”
She said yesterday was Thursday.
The last thing I remembered doing on Wednesday was going to bed, so I asked her what she did on Thursday. She said a few things, but none of them rang true for me. I never know why I don’t remember that Thursday. Reddit / Simavok
Creepy vehicle
“I was traveling home from work when I saw a car identical to mine in make, model, and year – just a different color. We both pulled into the turn lane a little further down the road and headed left. A long, straight road that has wide fields on either side, I wait for a car to pass before I turn onto this particular road and follow the car in front of me.
Not even five seconds had passed. But the car in front of me disappeared when I got to the road.
You can see pretty far ahead on this road because it’s long and straight and doesn’t bend. The car just disappeared and the thought is still running through my mind.
The car did not turn. They couldn’t complete the turn without doing a three-point turn or going partway into the field because the roads were narrow.
A car that looked like mine was nowhere to be seen as I entered this road and realized that the car was no longer in front of me. Instead, I saw another car speeding behind me. The car couldn’t have turned off anywhere on that road or I would have seen it.”

At his place, my friend and I were watching TV when we noticed someone on the screen eating a strawberry. Even though I didn’t like them, I asked if she happened to have strawberries at home because they looked delicious. Since we were both in our 20s and ate more Fruit Loops or mac & cheese than strawberries, he almost laughed at me.
It can be opened when a knock is heard after about twenty minutes. I hear her yelling for me to come and see something. His mother is waiting by the door with a pile of strawberries in one of those low boxes. “Tell AGNKim what you said,” he called. “I was driving home and there was a guy selling strawberries out of the back of his truck and I thought, I bet David and his friends would have some strawberries,” she continues with a slightly odd look. Well, my friend says you screwed up. You wasted your one wish on strawberries, but we all have one.” Reddit / AGNKim

“Years ago, my husband and I were watching a movie together. We didn’t watch the commercials when they started, but once one ended, we both knew where they were being filmed and were sure we were there.” find the controller and rewind as we continued to talk about our trip to the location in the ad, it took a few seconds and uninteresting, we’re still uncomfortable discussing it.” Reddit / tottiepots
Since ancient times, we have been trying to explain the amazing phenomena happening on our planet. While most of them are now well known to science, certain phenomena are still difficult to understand and even scientists defy explanation.
These strange real-life events shared online offer a glimpse into the mysterious experiences some people have that defy logical explanation. From children speaking names she shouldn’t know, to precognitive dreams and letters from the future, these stories feel more like movie plots than actual events. Yet they carry a terrifying truth for those who lived through them. Many of these events involve unexplained premonitions, forgotten days, or phantom visions that leave witnesses confused and sometimes restless.
In an age where science offers a clear majority of our world, these rare moments remind us that some phenomena still elude rational explanation. Whether it’s a forgotten Thursday or an inexplicably accurate prediction of a baby’s birth, such events serve as a reminder that the universe still holds its share of mysteries. These experiences, while often unsettling, also spark curiosity about the unknown and encourage us to question what we understand about reality. Although these stories will never be scientifically verified, they remain the personal testimony of those involved and reinforce the feeling that despite everything we know, the world still has more to discover.
