Minnesota Woman Assaulted During Evening Walk by 6’8” Suspect

Tristen Alan Leritz, 21, of Minnesota, has been charged with criminal s*xual conduct after allegedly attacking a 51-year-old woman while she walked in Vadnais Heights earlier this week.
According to WCCO, the victim was talking with a friend on her headphones when Leritz approached, covered her mouth, and claimed he had “tripped and fallen into her.” He then allegedly forced her to the ground, pinching her nose, covering her mouth, and pressing on her neck with his forearm.
The assault reportedly lasted 15 to 20 minutes, during which the victim struggled to breathe and feared for her life. She fought back and shouted for her friend to call 911. After the attack, she ran into the street while Leritz allegedly followed, saying, “I have to leave this way too.”
Evidence and Arrest
Deputies recovered the victim’s shoes, headphones, and glasses, along with Leritz’s glasses at the scene. At the hospital, medical staff documented multiple cuts and bruises, and DNA evidence matched Leritz.
When questioned by police, Leritz reportedly admitted to the assault, stating,
“F*** it, since I’m a virgin.”
Authorities describe Leritz as 6 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 248 pounds. He was arrested at his home on Thursday following public tips and is currently held on a $500,000 bond, with a court appearance scheduled for Monday.
