Remayah and Trigger’s story serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of responsible pet ownership and the potential for heroism and loyalty in unexpected places. If pit bulls are mistreated, their reputation as dangerous and violent animals may very well be true. Most dog breeds are comparable; what sets them apart is how well the owner takes care of their pet by making sure they are comfortable.
No dog is born nasty; it all depends on how his owner raises him.
Although there is no universal agreement about pit bulls, everyone can agree that this particular pit bull is a fantastic hero.
5-year-old Remayah Hernandez and her sister were riding a motorcycle when Tank, the neighbor’s labrador, appeared out of nowhere.
The young girl, being a little lover of dogs, did not hesitate to make an effort to arouse his interest. She just wanted to pet him. However, the day was marred by tragedy and blood.
The dog immediately attacked the girl and bit her in the face.
Remayah started screaming for help, clearly terrified. Her screams woke Trigger, the family pit bull, as well as her mother. He seemed to be in opposition to everything he was taught when he was a puppy when he was out in the family garden.
He had to leave the family yard and jump the fence to attack another dog. Trigger rushed to the aid of his 5-year-old owner when he heard her scream for help, attacking and injuring Tank.
Due to the breed’s reputation, a pit bull that attacks another dog usually causes a ruckus in the neighborhood.
But Trigger made the right choice in this case.
Animal control officers at the police station took Tank but eventually had to euthanize him. The tiny cub was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.
After their young daughter was attacked by a neighbor’s dog, the family used the savings they had set aside for a vacation to Disney World to pay for her reconstructive surgery.
At that time, an online fundraiser was launched to help the family. Thanks to our efforts, Remayah was still able to visit Disney World – and she did! In the end, $1,000 was raised to pay for this young girl
After the incident, the young girl was obviously scared, but she was also really grateful for what her hero had done for her. Or “superhero” as she likes to call him now. When she needed him, Trigger was honestly there.
It is still unclear how the Labrador managed to leave the house that day while the neighbor was at work and roam freely in the neighborhood. The neighbor was shocked to learn what had happened and immediately thought he must be missing from the story.
He was happy to learn that the young girl next door was unharmed in the incident, even though he was adamant that his dog was innocent.
Everyone was thankful that Remayah had recovered quickly from the terrible event.
