Luke told his mother Amy about his day when he came home from school one day.
Luke began, “Mom, I swear…”
“What did we say about swearing?” Amy asked her child.
“I’m telling you, Mom—Luna is my twin!” he said.
“Luke,” Amy said in a confused tone, “you’re an only child.
“No Mom! I’m serious. I look like Luna and we have the same birthday. The teachers also believe we’re twins.”
Luke kept talking about Luna, what she would like to do, dress up, eat, etc. while Amy cooked.
“She’s amazing, Mom. You’re going to enjoy her.” Luke then stated.
Amy believed that Luna was Luke’s special friend because Jeff was still away from home.
“You think you have a picture of Luna?” Then she asked her son. Luke grabbed the class portrait and hurried to his bedroom.
Amy realized that even though she had seen the photo before, she hadn’t noticed her son until Luke pointed Luna’s finger at her.
However, Luna bore a striking resemblance to Luke, so much so that her mother-in-law was also confused by the resemblance.
“Why don’t we invite Luna over?” Amy asked Luke. “If her mom agrees, you two can go on a date.
“Do you think he will come?” Luke asked.
“Like really come?”
“I’ll talk to her mother when I drop you off tomorrow,” Amy told her son with a smile.
Jeff was too tired to discuss what had happened that day when he got home from work. Amy couldn’t sleep when Jeff went straight to bed after dinner. Morning came as she fought.
Luna’s mother was Penelope, whom Amy met after she left Luke’s school. They then set up a meeting.
Penelope commented, “Amy, Luna talks about Luke all the time.” “It will be great for them to spend time together outside of school.”
Jeff was also home when the day came and Penelope brought Luna out on a date.
As he witnessed the cookies being prepared, he asked, “What’s going on? Are we hosting guests?”
“Yes,” Amy replied. However, she chose to keep quiet about the matter because she did not trust her husband.
There was a knock on the door and when Luke opened it, Luna ran to Jeff. Jeff paled when he saw Penelope and Luna in the landscape.
“Daddy!” “I told you she was my sister!” Luna shouted. Luke replied. Penelope was taken aback.
When they let the children play, they started talking.
“Mary, it’s been a long time,” Jeff continued.
“Well, it was right before we found out you were pregnant with Luke.
Amy revealed the truth after learning about Jeff’s one-night stand years ago.
As Jeff spoke, Penelope was speechless.
“So, did you know?” Amy asked. “Still, you know?”
“I had to meet her,” Jeff remarked. “I have exhausted all other options.
Penelope commented, “I told Jeff to keep it a secret.” “I didn’t mind being a single mother to Luna and my family helped me whenever I needed them.
Jeff stated at the time, “I never intended for any of this to happen.”
“Why would you put the kids in the same school?” Amy asked. “Did you really think their paths wouldn’t cross?”
Penelope then spoke up and said, “Jeff didn’t know about the school. Jeff only knows the tiniest details about my kid; I enrolled Luna recently because he wanted her to.”
Amy went outside to see how the kids were doing as she was confused and needed some time to clear her head. She watched Luke and Luna having fun. She gave in to Jeff’s persuasion and agreed to undergo couples counseling for their son because she no longer trusted her husband.
