Michael and Cynthia Gray had a good month in November of this year. The Hearty Soul writes that in addition to commemorating their tenth wedding anniversary, they also finished remodeling their new house.

Michael had the skills required to start remodeling his own home because he had been working with a team repairing houses for rent. I tore everything out, all the way down to the studs, he told Business Insider.
Cynthia was still Michael’s fiancée when he began making repairs to his new home. He promised her that he would construct a home that one day she would be pleased to display. He intended to turn it into a permanent family residence.
About 80% of the entire renovation was completed by Mr. Gray alone!
Naturally, he made use of the abilities he had acquired as a laborer while working in Michigan for a construction management firm. Additionally, he had a few supportive friends who helped him with all of the tasks he was unable to complete alone.
He finished all the major home improvements within three years. Three bedrooms, a fourth bedroom that had been turned into a walk-in closet, and one remodeled bathroom were all present on the property by July 2012.
Michael says that tilling the flooring was his favorite project.
“It was laborious work, but I enjoyed doing the tiling because your floors reflect a lot of who you are if you put a lot of love into what you do,” the tiler said.
Despite the significant financial investment—Michael estimates that he spent around $70,000 on the restoration—the couple’s dream home was now a reality.
