A Lesson in Perspective: Wife Tastes Husband’s Night Out

She had been on his case for months.

Every time he grabbed his jacket, the same complaint followed him out the door:

“You’re always at the pub! That’s all you ever do.”

One evening, worn down by the accusations, he had an idea. Instead of arguing, he invited her to come along. If she thought his nights were so enjoyable, she might as well experience one herself.

At the bar, he ordered his usual. Turning to her, he asked casually, “What are you having?”

She hesitated. “I don’t know… just get me whatever you’re drinking.”

Without a word, he lifted his glass and swallowed the drink in one practiced motion. She followed suit, taking a careful sip.

Instant regret.

She gagged, sputtered, and pushed the glass away. “That’s disgusting!” she said. “How can you possibly drink this?”

He smiled, completely unfazed.

“Now you understand,” he replied. “These nights aren’t nearly as fun as you imagine.”

Conclusion

It’s easy to assume someone else has it better—until you step into their shoes, or in this case, take a sip from their glass. A little firsthand experience can clear up misunderstandings… and sometimes deliver a good laugh along the way.
