He was unable to follow his dream, although The Mirror claims that he was accepted into Crystal Palace Football Club’s esteemed Academy. Caring for his mother, who was disabled, he found himself homeless and in debt at an early age. To make ends meet, he eventually took a job at a Motorola call center. He had no idea how much the job would pay off in the end.
“I describe the beginning of my career as a twice-failed homeless footballer who found himself doing telesales to pay off the mountain of debt he had accumulated to keep up with his football friends,” the executive told the Business Chief. “I’m really grateful for that debt because it meant I had to fail football quickly to get into a professional working environment.”
