“A Unique Occurrence”: Family of Six in Virginia Celebrates the Arrival of Triplets After Twins

On April 12, a remarkable event took place in the life of 30-year-old resident Monique Davaul in Newport News, Virginia. She was about to experience the incredible journey of welcoming not just one, but three beautiful children into her family. Monique, who already had a family of six including twins, gave birth to fraternal triplets and her story is a testament to the joys, challenges, and unexpected blessings that life can bring.

The momentous event took place at the prestigious Riverside Regional Medical Center (RRMC), where Monique received exceptional care and support throughout her pregnancy and birth. After the birth of her triplets – Jihád, Mielle, and Noelle – the newborns required specialized care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). However, they made remarkable progress and were soon ready to join their family, just in time for an important and heartfelt celebration: Mother’s Day.

Monique’s journey to becoming a mother of triplets began with a surprise that would change her life forever. It all started when she unexpectedly found out that she was already eight weeks pregnant. What makes this revelation even more interesting is that it happened while she was preparing to celebrate her 30th birthday.

When Monique was initially unaware of the multiple blessings in her womb, an educated co-worker joked about the possibility of having twins or maybe triplets, which Monique fondly remembers.

Curious about the idea, she decided to visit the doctor to learn more about her co-worker’s amusing prediction.

As soon as Monique heard the stunning news, she exclaimed to her co-worker, “You were 100% right! She couldn’t wait to tell her co-worker the fantastic news: ‘I’m expecting triplets.'” She needed to get in touch with the place where she had booked a room for her birthday party.

She was shocked when the doctor informed her that she was carrying not one, not two, but three worthless lives.

Monique excitedly announced that instead of the usual party, she would be holding an exciting “gender reveal” event to celebrate the good news of her expected triplets.

Monique was already aware of the difficulties and benefits of multiple pregnancies, having previously had twins.

This time, however, she found herself having repeated morning sickness, which may indicate she was carrying a girl or multiple babies.

Monique reflected on her experience and talked about it with Good Morning America.

She claimed that when I was sick I would have strong episodes that made me feel like I was carrying a woman or more than one child. Twins Nasir and Sincere, aged six, and her eight-year-old son, Monique initially mistook the news of her impending triplets for a light-hearted joke when she picked up her three boys, including the twins.

However, once they learned the truth, they became more curious and happily peppered Monique with questions like, “Mommy, when are the babies coming?”

Monique’s twins, Sincere and Nasir, are always willing to help and she thanked them for their help. Monique took time off from work throughout her pregnancy and spent the next four months focusing on caring for her growing family.

Regular check-ups were diligently scheduled every two weeks until the fateful day when her water broke and she announced it was time to welcome her children into the world.

The birth of Monique’s triplets by cesarean section marked a significant milestone not only for her but also for RRMC. It was a special moment as the hospital had not witnessed the birth of triplets since 2018. The nursing staff at RRMC shared Monique’s joy and delight as they played a vital role in ensuring the safe arrival of Jihad, Mielle, and Noelle.

Monique’s story is a testament to the incredible surprises that life can bring and the strength and resilience of mothers to embrace the unexpected. Her journey from finding out she is expecting triplets to their safe arrival is a heartwarming story of love, family, and the unbreakable bonds that bind them together.

As Monique and her family embark on this new, joy-filled chapter of raising three beautiful children, their story serves as an inspiration to all, reminding us that life’s most precious moments often come when we least expect them.
