A Year After Leaving His Mother in a Wheelchair on the Street, Son Sees Her Walking to His House

John thought it all found out. Decent work, roof over his head – thank you for the house he once owned, his aging mother – and the future he believed he was waiting for him safely.

But one seemingly ordinary morning would disintegrate the shocking truth that would shake the very earth on which he was standing.

When he opened the door and saw a well -known character – he didn’t talk to her in a year – with certainty on his two legs, John knew his past finally caught up with him.

John pretended to be empathy for Wendy. When he placed her on a wheelchair, he asked her how she arranged money.

“I didn’t want to bother you, my son, so I decided myself. I sold the house.”

John froze, shocked.

“Wait, sold the house? For what, unsuccessful operation? Are you so selfish! You didn’t even think of me! It’s also my house, right?

John stopped, but Wendy understood what he suggested. She was injured that John took care of heritage more than her well -being.

“You know what? I have a job.

Wendy was left alone on the street near the parking lot, sobbing quietly, feeling abandoned and injured.

A year passed without any contact from John. One morning, however, John heard a car that pulled out on the driveway. He didn’t expect anyone. When he looked out, he was shocked when he saw his mother, Wendy – behind his own two legs.

“Mom, my God! How are you?” He asked and stunned.

“I’m doing much better, my son. I enjoy it every moment,” Wendy replied with a smile. Her cheerful reaction surprised John and he invited her in and offered her a glass of water.

John didn’t know how to react. Wendy broke the silence and said, “She doesn’t look so surprised, son. You remember when you left me on the street after my operation, right?” When the memory appeared, John’s face paled.

“Well, Joanne and her nephew Evan, arrived shortly thereafter. They were broken to see me alone, so instead of taking me to the nursing home, they took me in. Joanne had to leave the next day, but Evan left me in my old house.

“He took care of me as a son. I even found me a better doctor in another city. I was afraid of another operation, but Evan stayed by my side through it all. And miraculously, the operation worked. Not only can I walk now, but I can run like me when I was younger.”

Although John was embarrassed, he did not want to hear Wendy praise foreigners. “I understand it. I was a terrible son. But if this Evan is so great, why are you even here?” He asked his bitter tone.

At that moment another car was pulled outside and a young man entered the house.

“Oh, Eva. Perfect timing! We just talked about you,” Wendy said, smiling when she greeted him.

“Sorry, you can’t just go to my house like that!” John was angry with Evan.

“Well, I can actually enter my house,” Evan replied, leaving his words confused.

It turned out that Evan was the owner of the house in which John lived. John did not know because he only dealt with the agency that dealt with the property. To make it not even worse, John lagged at a six -month rent and avoided agency calls.

The agency sent an announcement to Evan, but after hearing John’s fighting from Wenda, Evan decided to reduce him and asked the agency to stop chasing him.

But when Wendy learned about John’s behavior, she realized that it was time to stop allowing him. She urged Evan to act.

“Oh, I almost forgot, son!” Wendy said, reached into her bag. “Here’s the notice of eviction. You have to leave 15 days.” She handed the paper to John and left with Evan.

John was sitting on the couch and his head in his hands. In the end, he realized that his actions led him to the bottom.

Conclusion

When the door closed behind Wendy and Evan, John was sitting in a stunned silence, evicting in his hands trembling. The weight of his decision came across him as a tidal wave – his greed, his cold, his neglect of the only person who has always been for him. He lost everything: his mother’s trust, his home and his dignity.

At that moment, John saw his reflection – not in the mirror, but by the consequences he had now faced. Maybe it wasn’t too late to change, but the path to redemption would be long and uncertain. For the first time in a long time, John didn’t think about what he lost. He was thinking about what he had fired. And somewhere deep inside began the source of regret – along with a weak, flashing hope that one day he could become a man that his mother could be proud of.
