Actor Mike Batayeh, Known for ‘Breaking Bad,’ Dies at 52 from Heart Attack in His Sleep

His family said in a statement first reported to TMZ that he “will be greatly missed by those who loved him and his wonderful ability to bring laughter and joy to so many people.” He is survived by five sisters, 11 nieces and nephews and seven great-nieces and great-nephews. His loss saddened the family.

The Batayeh family thanked Mike for his commitment to “helping youth in the community where he lived and grew up facing similar challenges” in his obituary, which was posted on the Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home website. Most people know Mike Batayeh from the hit TV series Breaking Bad, where he played Dennis Markowski, the manager of the industrial laundry LavanderIa Brillante Gustav Fring, the representative of the meth super lab. A total of three episodes featured Batayeh.

He first appeared in Season 4, Episode 12, when DEA officers showed up at the laundromat in the middle of an investigation. He initially objects to the agents looking around, but eventually relents when he threatens to get a permit.
