Everyone loved him—he was truly an outstanding flight attendant,’ she said.

Debi also expressed the profound sorrow experienced by their children, especially their daughter, whose wedding was only eight weeks away. ‘It’s just a lot,’ she said, her voice filled with tears, ‘but he died doing what he absolutely loved.’. 

Ian’s colleagues shared similar sentiments. Garrick McFadden, a fellow American Airlines flight attendant, shared with WBTV that Epstein embodied joy and passion. He described Epstein as a vibrant ball of energy. I’ve never witnessed him in a negative mood,’ mcfadden remarked. ‘he embodied the essence of a flight attendant—establishing connections with passengers and ensuring their experience is delightful. There’s truly only one Ian Epstein. 

Tributes to Ian have also been received from the flying public. One former passenger shared a heartwarming story on Facebook about her experience with him during a flight. She remembered the time when she flew with her husband and young son, and she noticed that she was having trouble with her bags and an unruly toddler.
