Alf child star Benji Gregory, 46, has been found dead.
From 1986 to 1990, he appeared in 101 episodes of the show as Brian Tanner.
Family members confirmed the devastating news of Gregoryβs death.
Gregory reportedly went to the bank on June 12 to deposit some leftover checks, but according to his sister Rebecca, he died of heat stroke after taking a nap in the car. His dog Hans was also found dead. According to TMZ, the scene was a Chase Bank parking lot.
Rebecca also revealed how her brother struggled with bipolar illness, grief, and a sleep problem that often left him without sleep for days at a time.

Rebecca wrote on Facebook: βIt is with a heavy heart that my family has suffered a loss far too soon.β
βBen was a wonderful uncle, brother, and son.
He was funny and often made us laugh. Still, when I look through his stuff, I canβt help but giggle in between sobs at his little notes or movies,β she continued.

Following his unexpected death, fans took to social media to express their sadness and condolences to the actor and his dog.

Gregory enlisted as an airbrush officer in the Navy in 2004 and was honorably discharged in 2005. He then worked several different jobs before he and his wife Sarah moved to Arizona.
Gregory, whose grandmother was his agent, starred in a number of TV series before being cast in ALF, including Fantasy Island, TJ Hooker and The Twilight Zone.

Rebecca suggested donating in his honor to the ASPCA or The Actors Equity Foundation, two organizations that her brother was very passionate about.
