Ribeiro initially revealed the traumatic event when he appeared on a show hosted by Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, expressing the stress he and his family had experienced.
Before the Fourth of July, Alfonso Ribeiro gave People Magazine an update on his daughter’s 4-year recovery from a horrific scooter accident.
Just one day before Ava turned four, as Mamas Uncut previously reported, tragedy struck while she was riding her scooter. On Thursday, unfortunately, my daughter was injured and needed emergency surgery, Ribeiro told Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos on their show.
He added: “So it’s been a very stressful weekend,” before revealing that Ava had “fallen off” while using her scooter and suffered a rash on her face and arm, which required all the skin to be removed.
Ribeiro went on to say that his young daughter will recover, but that “it’s going to be a long process.” Currently, according to Ribeiro’s latest report, Ava is “doing great.”
The delighted father updated his followers on Ava’s progress in recovery, saying: “She is healing wonderfully.” Despite some scary moments and opportunities, she is doing well. […] As expected, development continues as planned. It’s a really long process. But she’s doing fantastic.
The actor and broadcaster previously admitted that the morning Ava was injured, his wife had a terrible feeling that something bad was going to happen. The challenging aspect is that my wife really trusts her instincts. On Thursday, she called everyone into the kitchen and revealed that she had a hunch that my daughter would be visiting the ER this week. Do not allow her to do any activity that could endanger her.
That intuition “clearly wasn’t heeded,” Ribeiro continued. Ava rode the little scooter while my babysitter ran back into the house to grab the pads and other supplies.
Ribeiro praised his wife’s “beautiful intuition” and noted that it seemed natural for the mothers. Although they are very precise, all moms have an instinct. There is a connection that women feel with their newborns that men will never understand; you carry this soul in your body for nine months.
The event occurred on May 12. On Instagram, Alfonso posted a picture of Ava’s wounds.
A day four years ago is not the kind of day you wish for. I just wanted to send [Kare MD Skin Health] a big thank you for the prompt service and process to help reduce the likelihood of [scarring]. I’m so pleased with how brave my little one was during the whole procedure,” Alfonso captioned the photo on Instagram on May 12.
Fortunately, despite the situation, Ava was still able to celebrate her birthday. Later, Ribeiro also posted pictures from this memorable day.
“Happy Birthday to my dear Ava Sue. As some of you know, Ava has had a very challenging week. I am quite pleased with the way she has handled things. She is incredibly brave, strong, and resourceful. I adore every aspect of my beloved child, captioned the photo.
“On a side note, @mrsangelaribeiro1 has been nothing short of fantastic during this period and I will always be grateful. Long evenings spent giving pain meds every few hours to a small child. Two of my heroes.”
As Ava continues her journey to recovery, the outpouring of support and well wishes from fans and followers has no doubt given Ribeiro and his family comfort. The updates shared by Ribeiro offer a glimpse into the difficult and emotional process they went through, reminding us of the resilience and strength of young children and the power of family love in difficult times.
While Ava’s accident was undoubtedly a terrifying experience, Alfonso Ribeiro’s updates convey a sense of hope and optimism for her continued recovery. The strength and bravery shown by Ava and her parents are a testament to their unwavering love and resilience in the face of adversity. As they move forward, the Ribeiro family remains grateful for the support they have received and the progress Ava continues to make on her road to recovery.
