First Impressions

I was lucky enough to get the chance to test drive an ASUS TUF F15 Gaming Laptop, so I’ll share my first impressions on what I think of it. Starting off with how the computer looked when I got it, it was packaged in a sturdy box with lots of protection around the laptop.

Inside, it came with: the Asus TUF f15 gaming laptop, power cord, warranty card, and user manual. One thing that caught my eye right away is that this laptop has RGB lighting all over the keyboard which is very cool!

The keyboard also has an anti-ghosting function which means you can press any key at any time without having any delay. The touchpad is also very responsive and feels great while using it.

Another cool feature is that there are two USB ports on either side of the keyboard which makes accessing them easier if you have a mouse or anything else plugged into one port.

The speakers are awesome and sound amazing, they’re not too loud but they’re not too quiet either. They’re perfect for listening to music or watching videos. The battery life lasts up to 8 hours, depending on your settings and usage.

Price & Configurations

The laptop is currently priced at $1,367 (our based unit) for a 15.6-inch display, an Intel Core i7-12700H CPU, 16GB of RAM, 1TB SSD, and the Nvidia GeForce GTX 3060 6GB GPU. It’s a pretty good price for what you’re getting.

Considering most laptops that offer these specs cost about two thousand dollars more, ASUS did well in keeping it competitively priced.

There are cheaper options if you don’t need as much power or storage space, but this one is the best bang for your buck! If you’re looking for something with great performance without spending too much money, then this is a great option to consider.

Design and Build Quality

While it doesn’t have some of the high-end specs you might be used to, the ASUS TUF F15 manages to make up for this with its incredibly solid construction.

From the keyboard to the hinges, everything feels durable and secure, which is especially nice in a laptop that costs under $1400. The construction is so good in fact that I would dare say it’s one of the best values out there on laptops at this price point, or at any point really.

The ASUS TUF F15 is one of those laptops that has been built with durability in mind as well as portability. It doesn’t offer any groundbreaking features but what it does offer is sturdy build quality with a reasonable set of specs, all for an unbeatable price.

If you’re looking for a reliable machine that will get the job done without breaking your bank account then look no further than the ASUS TUF F15 2022.

Keyboard and Touchpad

The ASUS TUF F15’s keyboard feels very solid and sturdy. There is a slight difference in the feeling of the keys as compared to some other laptops, but I like it much better. It does take a bit of getting used to, but the feel is noticeably better than others.

The keyboard layout is traditional with the inclusion of a numerical keypad making navigation fast and easy while multitasking. I found typing on the keys comfortable and I didn’t need to make any adjustments.

There is no included numeric keypad but it’s not necessary if you already have a number pad attached to your desktop computer. The touchpad allows users to quickly scroll up, down, left, and right as well as zoom in and out by pinching two fingers together or spreading them apart.

The touchpad can handle up to three fingers at a time and has two physical buttons on the right-hand side. These are well placed and easy to use with little movement from your hands.

There is also an indicator light in the top left corner for when you press one of these buttons that cannot be seen when using the laptop which is quite helpful for those who are not aware of where they are positioned.

The response time was very good and did not lag behind my finger movements. Overall, the ASUS TUF F15 offers a great keyboard and touchpad experience.

Display and Audio Quality

As with most laptop models, the ASUS TUF F15 screen is on the small side (1080p). However, it is high-quality and looks gorgeous. The ASUS TUF F15 has a high-resolution display that can be stretched across its 15.6-inch screen.

It’s especially great for gaming or watching movies, as well as playing any games with nice graphics. The audio quality is adequate but not mind-blowing. Sound quality comes in two forms.

There are powerful speakers in the front of the computer that offers a crisp sound that is immersive, but there are also headphones ports on either side of the keyboard for anyone who wants to turn it up a notch or just not disturb others.

The three-volume buttons sit on the left side of the keyboard for easy access when making adjustments. The speakers produce an immersive sound but lack bass, which limits their use for some types of music.

Users might need to upgrade their speaker system if they listen to a lot of bass-heavy songs. The ASUS TUF F15 seems to get louder than average when maxed out, which makes it great for watching videos or listening to music.

Hardware, CPU and GPU, and Features

After looking at the ASUS TUF F15, I found that this laptop is a good purchase for those who want a powerful gaming machine with a design made to last. The one-piece CNC aluminum chassis feels sturdy, heavy, and solid while maintaining airflow to keep things running cool.

With the help of Intel’s 12th Gen Kaby Lake CPUs, video games ran smoothly with minimal stuttering. And thanks to the 7 hours of battery life in ‘Balanced’ mode, you don’t have to sacrifice power when it’s time to travel.

Even after a day out on the town playing Fortnite with my friends, there was still plenty of juice left. Overall, I’m impressed by how well-designed and executed the ASUS TUF F15 really is. It may not be as flashy as some other laptops on the market but if you’re looking for an all-around performer that can handle just about anything thrown it’s way then this might be your next laptop!

Performance is great on both versions of the ASUS TUF, especially since they both feature options for either 8GB or 16GB RAM configurations!

Plus, storage space ranges from 512GB up to 1TB which means no matter what your needs are, you’ll find something that suits them perfectly. To sum it up, if you’re looking for a high-performing workhorse of a laptop that can also withstand any adventure, the ASUS TUF F15 should be your go-to choice.

Whether you’re taking it camping or using it as your daily driver, this laptop will always deliver. At only 4.85 pounds, this ASUS TUF F15 laptop packs a punch without weighing you down!

Gaming Performance

The ASUS TUF F15 was a fairly decent experience as it stood up to the gaming tests. For example, in the game Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, the laptop averaged 42 frames per second on high quality with 1440p resolution, which is definitely impressive for a laptop of this price range.

The performance fell to 24 frames per second when increased to Ultra-High quality settings with 4K resolution, but then managed an average of 27 FPS while gaming at medium settings.

However, if you’re looking for a laptop that will be able to handle even more intense games such as Battlefield 1 or Deus Ex: Mankind Divided on maximum settings, you may not want to look elsewhere.

Overall, the ASUS TUF F15 performed well in terms of gaming and shouldn’t be too much trouble for anyone who doesn’t demand too much from their machine.

Performance, Benchmarks, and Tests

To benchmark the ASUS TUF F15, we ran a set of tests to determine its performance for our ASUS TUF F15 review. The laptop scored 441.3 on Geekbench 4’s single-core test, and 2,358 on its multi-core test. It also did well in GFXBench, with an average frame rate of 83 fps in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided at 1080p high settings.

In our thermal stress test with Furmark, it didn’t get past 67 degrees Celsius before automatically shutting down the GPU. The CPU temperature stayed below 69 degrees Celsius throughout this process as well.

The keyboard was comfortable and responsive to use, although some keys were difficult to reach because of their smaller size. We loved how the device feels sturdy and doesn’t creak under pressure or wobble when tapped.

All ports are easily accessible without needing any weird cable management strategies like hiding cables inside the body or putting them behind a panel. We had no trouble charging the battery during gameplay by plugging in our power bank.

The speakers have a great sound quality and you don’t need to be close to your desk to hear what is being played. When plugged into an external monitor, you’ll see that the display is not very sharp compared to other devices that are available today.

There are only two USB Type-C ports which can make it inconvenient if you’re constantly plugging in accessories. Battery life isn’t bad but could be better if more power-saving features were added. The webcam placement makes you feel self-conscious about video chatting with anyone. If special gaming is your priority, then this may not be the very best laptop for you.

The left-hand side of the screen has inverted colors while the right-hand side remains normal. Our favorite feature of the ASUS TUF F15 was the backlit keyboard! We found it easy to type even in low light conditions thanks to its red LED lights.

There’s also a fingerprint sensor located next to the touchpad, so you won’t need to enter your password each time you log in. However, there are many things we would change about the laptop. Overall, it’s a very good laptop to buy right now!

Specs, Connectivity & Heat

The ASUS TUF F15 has an Intel Core i7-12700H with up to 4.7 GHz speed, 16GB of RAM, up to 512GB of SSD storage, and a 1TB. As mentioned earlier, it also includes NVIDIA GeForce GTX 3060 graphics which will have you able to play most games at the native resolution of 1920×1080.

The connectivity options are decent, including the latest Type-C USB port as well as two old but reliable ports: HDMI and DisplayPort. The laptop comes with dual cooling fans (one for cooling your CPU and GPU) that do not make much noise.

Even after playing games for several hours, I did not notice any thermal throttling or rapid fan spinning that could annoy anyone around me. Overall, the ASUS TUF F15 is a solid device for those who want both performance and style. Although it is a little heavier than other gaming laptops in its class, the ASUS TUF F15’s build quality can be seen from miles away.

You won’t regret picking this one up! The ASUS TUF F15 isn’t too heavy, weighing in at 4.85 pounds making it easy to carry around and perfect for those days when you’re running from meeting to meeting. If you’re looking for a sturdy laptop that has good battery life, then ASUS TUF F15 is worth considering!

Battery Life & Charging

The battery life is one of the best out there. While using this computer during my review period I can use it for 2 hours before needing to recharge the power source.

The power cord comes included with the purchase which is great for people who work on the go. It’s also worth noting that while the charger plugs into a wall outlet, it also has a USB port so you can charge your phone at the same time!

The battery life is one of its many features that I have found to be useful over my review period. The laptop will last me around 5 hours before needing to be recharged. While writing, playing games, or watching videos with friends online I can use it for 3 hours before needing to recharge it.

It should also be noted that while it does plug into a wall outlet, there is also a USB port on it so you can charge your phone at the same time! The battery life lasts about 4 hours when doing tasks such as working on spreadsheets or typing up documents in Microsoft Word. On average, ASUS TUF F15 takes about 1 to 2 hours to fully charge from 0%.

The battery life is surprisingly long-lasting. If you’re looking for a laptop that doesn’t require charging often then this might be the perfect fit for you.

Final Verdict – Should You Buy It/Or Not?

The ASUS TUF F15 is a solid, sturdy laptop. With the upcoming Black Friday sales season just around the corner, this may be a good time to look into buying this if you are in the market for a new laptop.

However, as with any purchase, there are some cons that you should be aware of before making your decision. First, the battery life is not great. At about 3 hours per charge, it’s not going to last long on an average day of work or school. Additionally, it does get hot pretty quickly.

If you use applications like Gaming and Photoshop all day then be warned because the temperature will rise quickly. And finally, when playing games such as Fortnite at high settings, the system crashes and freezes fairly often after a few minutes of gameplay.

Overall though, I would recommend this laptop to anyone who needs something sturdy and reliable without paying too much money! It has a sleek design, comfortable keyboard, durable touchpad, and runs relatively fast. So whether you’re working hard or gaming hard-the ASUS TUF F15 can handle anything!

And That’s all from today. I hope you enjoyed my full review and know anything that you want to know about this new gaming laptop. If you still have any questions in your mind so feel free to comment down below!
