Ashley has just returned from the funeral of her beloved eight-year-old daughter Lily.
The funeral was an unpleasant blur of sadness, well-intentioned but empty condolences, and a lash of grief that could not shake. When the weight of her loss settled on her chest, she found that she had returned to the peace of her empty house.
The walls, once filled with the sound of Lily’s’s laughter, now feel choking in their silence. Her absence pain was unbearable and the numbness that settled over Ashley had left her feeling of cavity, as if the world had lost all its color.
But when she went to the door, something attracted her eyeshell, a clearly colored circus tent that didn’t sit in the backyard. Ashley, surprised and confused, stopped for a moment, wondering if her grief had begun to turn into reality. The tent, with bold red and yellow stripes, looked like sadness in its world as if it were a dream or a memory that no longer made sense. Why was it there? Who set it up? And more importantly, why now?
Little Ashley knew what to expect inside the tent and changed everything.
After Ashley buried her eight-year-old-grained daughter, Lily returned home her heart was crushed by the grief and exhaustion of the day. The funeral passed in Zaka, full of sympathetic words that could not penetrate through its numbness. The loss of Lily, a little girl whose laughter once brightened her home, left Ashley completely hollow. Her world lost all the color, and the sorrow threatened to swallow her.
But when Ashley finally arrived at her house, she attracted her to something unexpected – a large, live circus tent in her backyard. Confused and exhausted and carefully approached, wondering if her stunned mind was playing tricks. Looking at the red and yellow stripes felt incredible, in the shadow of her sadness.
As she entered the tent, Ashley was amazed by the small bundle he was. Her thinking about her increased panic and memories of Lily’s fragile body in the hospital. But then the bundle moved and Ashley’s amazement appeared a puppy of gold retriever and his tail rushed happily when he looked at her with innocent eyes.
Ashley for a moment stood frozen, confused by his gaze. Who could leave this puppy here? Why? When she gently stroked his soft hair, she noticed the envelope inserted under the blanket. With trembling hands, she opened her and found a note written in Lily’s manuscript.
In the note Lily, she expressed her love for her mother and explained that she asked her father to bring the puppy as a gift because he knew how much Ashley was missing. The puppy named Daisy was supposed to bring Ashley comfort and community, a piece of Lily’s love to help her through the pain, that she would lose her.
Reading notes, Ashley’s grief has intensified, but also recognition of the sophisticated gesture of Lily. Even in the last moments, Lily feared well-over.
Oblation difficult days that followed. Although it could not replace Lily, Daisy brought comfort and helped Ashley face every new day with a flash of hope. In the presence of Ashley’s puppy, she found a reminder of the joy and love she left.
Through Daisy, Ashley began to recover and slowly realized that while Lily might not be physically with her, her love would never really be gone. The tent, once mysterious and out of place, became a symbol of the last gift of Lily-Scake about her daughter’s permanent love, a sign that she still watched her in her absence.
In the days that followed, Ashley’s grief began to move slowly. While the pain of loss of loss would never completely disappear, Daisy’s presence has become a calming constant. A small puppy with playful energy and a fine society offered Ashley a chance to recover, one small step by one. The tent, once confused and outside the place, now had a deep meaning a symbol of Lily’s unspecified love, a reminder that even after Lily’s death she left part of herself to lead and support her mother. Through Daisa, Ashley began to feel the presence of her daughter in a new, unexpected way and found a flashing light at the darkest moments of her sadness. Although the pain would always be part, Ashley knew she could continue with Daisy at her side and appreciate the love that Lily gave her until the end of her own days.
