Known for her impeccable style, Blake Lively has often captured the essence of fairy tales with her fashion choices. What may come as a surprise is that her outfit inspiration often comes straight from the magical world of Disney.
It turns out that she gets all of her dressing inspiration from fairy tales, as her style always looks like something out of a storybook.
BEAUTIFUL PRINCESS

CINDERELLA
Blake completely transformed into Cinderella during the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. Her Vivienne Westwood Couture ball gown with a full skirt and embellished bodice was a replica. She had her hair combed and decorated it with Cinderella’s famous headband. She was dressed in jewels fit for a princess and captioned a photo of her outfit on Instagram, “bibbidi bobbidi bling.”
ELSA
She perfectly recreated Elsa from Frozen at the Cannes Film Festival with her body-hugging sparkling ice blue dress and her hair pulled back into a ponytail, and even posted “Let It Glo” on Instagram.
ESMERALDA
Do you see a trend here? Disney served as Blake’s primary costume motif during the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, in case you couldn’t tell by now. During the week, she also mentioned that Esmeralda (from The Hunchback of Notre Dame) influenced her with her plunging V-neck dresses and voluptuous off-the-shoulder necklines.
CRUELLA DE VIL
After hitting the Michael Kors Fall 2017 catwalk, she captioned her Instagram message with “Love always, Cruella,” thanking the designer for her 101 Dalmatians-inspired black and white ensemble and sparkly coat.
BELLE
Blake’s yellow empire waist dress and denim jacket served two purposes. She said her outfit allowed her to embody Belle from Beauty and the Beast and the Beast at the same time.
URSULA
Blake said she can play villains as well as princesses, so she does her best Little Mermaid impression on Ursula while wearing a bold black dress and tight sea witch dress.
ARIEL
Blake famously dyed her hair strawberry blonde for her role in the 2011 film Hick. At the time, she gushed, “I love it. I feel like Ariel. (Debuting her new look in a Zuhair Murad seafoam mermaid dress didn’t hurt either!)
AGAIN, ARIEL

Blake’s Versace Met Gala 2018 dress with a panel pattern and spikes on her specially designed Lorraine Schwartz crown gave off massive Maleficent vibes.

Blake directed Belle while wearing an apron and a gingham blue blouse. The only difference? She took a bag for frozen macaroni rather than a book!

We never imagined comparing Blake’s stunning locks to the gravity-defying hairstyle of The Incredibles supervillain, but it just goes to show how deeply committed the actor is to the Disney characters.
