Blanket and Prince, the sons of Michael Jackson, made a special appearance at the 10th-anniversary commemoration of Cirque du Soleil’s ‘Michael Jackson ONE’ performance, held at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
In a touching tribute to their late father, Michael Jackson, Bigi Jackson, 21 (formerly known as Blanket), and Prince Jackson, 26, made a seldom-seen appearance in Las Vegas on Tuesday. The siblings were spotted at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, where the captivating Cirque du Soleil’s ongoing Michael Jackson ONE show mesmerizes audiences.
Fans inside the casino were thrilled to see the brothers, and one devoted MJ supporter presented them with a picture of Michael, complete with angelic imagery, while they shared their cherished memories of the global superstar. According to an announcement on Cirque du Soleil’s website, representatives from Michael’s estate were also present to engage in a public Q&A session, commemorating the “Human Nature” artist’s “Blue Sapphire Birthday Celebration.”
Following heartfelt conversations with Michael’s adoring fans, the Jackson brothers were set to enjoy a special performance by the talented cast of the Vegas show. The event promised to be an evening filled with entertainment and included a book signing session by Michael Bush, the author of “The King of Style: Dressing Michael Jackson.”
The festivities didn’t stop there. Attendees could also look forward to a meet-and-greet with the original creative team behind Michael Jackson ONE, as well as representatives from the Grammy winner’s estate. Additionally, fans who could provide proof of purchasing a ticket for either of Tuesday’s two shows were treated to delectable cake and cupcakes before the main event.
The Cirque du Soleil show paying homage to the legendary Thriller hitmaker is described as “part music, part acrobatics,” and entirely sensational. This remarkable spectacle was initially announced in February 2013 and opened to the public several months later, making Michael’s 65th birthday the 10th anniversary of the Vegas residency.
Reflecting on Michael’s enduring spirit, his friend and choreographer, Jamie King, once stated, “Everything [Jackson] does is with a childlike heart. For Michael, every day was fresh, every day was new, every day had to be bigger and better than the last one.” Executives involved with ONE had promised that this new show would be a departure from its predecessor, Immortal.
Tuesday’s extravaganza wasn’t the only time the Jackson siblings made a rare appearance to honor their father’s legacy. In August 2018, Paris Jackson, 25, and Prince attended the “Michael Jackson Diamond Birthday Celebration” at Mandalay Bay, commemorating his 60th birthday. During this event, they graciously accepted the Elizabeth Taylor Legacy Award on behalf of their father, recognizing his humanitarian work with the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.
Elizabeth Taylor, a close friend of Michael and Paris’ godmother, had a profound impact on their lives. Paris recalled moments of her father conversing with Elizabeth in their Encino home and highlighted Michael’s unwavering support for her cause through his time, celebrity status, and donations. Michael’s former bodyguards also described his three children as “well-mannered, well-behaved kids” and emphasized that “they were Michael’s first priority.”
During Michael’s funeral in 2009, Paris, then only 11 years old, emotionally conveyed, “Since my birth, Daddy has been the most wonderful father one could ever dream of. All I wish to say is how much I love him.”
