A Bank Account Without a Password
“Are you doing okay, Mom?”
“I’m fine. Do you need something?”
“No. I just wanted to check on you.”
It was the first conversation in years in which he didn’t ask her for money.
Six months later he came to her house carrying a bright pink bougainvillea and a bank receipt.
“That’s the first full payment I’ve made entirely with my own work,” he said.
