A Bank Account Without a Password
Abigail crouched beside her and explained how to request help from the foundation.
“Do you work here?” the woman asked.
“No.” Abigail smiled. “I just learned how expensive it gets to take care of someone when you forget to take care of yourself.”
Spencer was waiting in the parking lot. He’d come by bus, carrying a new folder of payment receipts.
“What would you have done with the money if you hadn’t heard that call through the door?” he asked as they got into her sedan.
Abigail remembered the excitement she’d carried into the hospital that morning.
