Christopher had spent fifteen years building a successful company alongside a man who had helped ruin his father’s life.

“Why did Samuel make you a full partner in the firm?” Martha questioned.

“To keep me close,” Christopher realized bitterly.

“To monitor what I knew about my father’s past and control where I looked.”
