CPS issued an emergency protective order and placed Mira in temporary state custody.

When Sondra was told she could not take her daughter home, she came apart in the precinct hallway.

“She is my daughter!” she screamed.

Detective Sorenson stepped between us.

“Which is exactly why CPS is involved.”
