Dad finally turned to him. “No, Travis. What’s ridiculous is thinking that controlling a woman’s paycheck makes you the man of the house.” He opened his banking app and transferred five hundred dollars to me.
“For groceries and whatever Ruby needs. Not one cent goes to him.”
Travis stepped toward us. “You can’t walk into my home and interfere in my marriage.”
Dad’s face never changed. “This house is in Julia’s name. I helped her with the down payment before she ever met you. And I kept every document.”
