“My mother doesn’t use regular social media,” Mariana said.

“She only posts in her private group.”

“What private group?”

“Disciplined Minds,” Mariana said, her voice dropping to a tight whisper.

“It’s an online subscription forum she set up three years ago for preschool administrators and parents who pay for her behavioral training.”

“She charges people money to be in it?”

“Fifty dollars a month,” Mariana said.
