So I let her own voice tell the real story, because her voice was the one piece of evidence no one could accuse me of manufacturing.
It wasn’t revenge, quite.
It was refusing, for the first time, to let her version stand as the record.
For six years I had let every humiliation go unanswered, and every silence had been read as agreement, and every agreement had built the false story taller.
