Aria took one step toward him. He stopped talking.

The room froze again. One Marine near the far shower shut the water off with fingers that shook hard enough to slip on the handle. Another stared at the drain, because looking at Aria meant admitting what he’d just seen.

A third looked toward the corridor, waiting for the real authority to arrive.

He didn’t have to wait long.
