“Ah, the Holloway-Mercer wedding at the Bellevue Hotel.

Half the city has been in here this week ordering morning coats.”

“We want something classic,” Caroline said.

“Navy wool, a white cotton shirt, and a navy velvet bow tie.”

Ellis reached up and touched the dark velvet ribbon the tailor held against his collar.

“Does it tie in the front?”

“It ties in a firm double loop,” the tailor said, chalking a line down the back of Ellis’s jacket pattern.

“You’ll look very sharp standing beside your mother.”
