He called me Ivan for eleven months.
Everyone asks about that too.
He called me Ivan until the following April, and Jessi and Delia and I had agreed early that nobody was ever going to suggest otherwise, and that if he arrived at something else he would arrive at it himself.
He did it for the first time on a Tuesday evening on the phone, at the end of a call about nothing, and it was so casual that I do not think he noticed he had done it.
