Part Five: Fourteen Months
I deployed on the third of December.
What I did for the next fourteen months is what a certain kind of man does, which is work.
I want to be careful about how I say this, because there is a way of telling it that makes it sound noble and it was not.
I was extremely good at my job for fourteen months, and I volunteered for things, and I extended once, and I got a commendation that is in a drawer in my apartment.
All of that was the same act.
