I have thought a great deal about the sentence your son’s name is not on it and it should be.

Because she is right that it is not and she is wrong that it should be.

Policies do not have names on them.

That is the point of them; that is what makes them apply to everybody.

But somewhere in a manual at a health system in Wisconsin there is a sentence that exists because a nurse put her hand on a box in March 2021 and because a woman sat on a garage floor eleven months later, and it will outlast all of us, and about nine hundred beds are covered by it.

That is what I got.
