We have agreed — Davis and I, through a mediator, in writing, which is how we agree things now — that Auggie gets all of it at sixteen, from both of us, in the same room, and that neither of us will get there first.

That agreement cost four sessions and about two thousand dollars and it is the single best thing the two of us have done together since 2021.

I fought for one clause in it and Davis gave it to me without argument, which I did not expect.

The clause says that when Auggie is told, he will be told by his father, in his own words, that he lied to his mother for eleven months and that she found out from a box.
