When a non-custodial parent in a Texas family court proceeding has an order in place and cannot get access to their child’s medical records, the programme pays a lawyer for two hours to send the right letters to the right custodians under the right statute.

Two hours.

That is the whole of it.

Because I had joint legal rights to my daughter’s medical information under that 2022 order — I had them the entire time, they are in paragraph eleven — and in three years I never once went and got the records myself, and if I had, at any point after the December of 2023, I would have found a prescription history in my daughter’s name for medications she had no reason to be taking.

It was there.
