“If they hadn’t moved her, my daughter would have been in that house on the Wednesday afternoon when they searched it, and she’d have come home four hours after your daughter did.

“And if they hadn’t taken your daughter, nobody would have searched that house at all, and my daughter would still be in that basement.

“I have to live with what that means, because it means I owe the worst week of your life for the best morning of mine, and there is no way to say thank you for that.”
