I retrieved the folder I’d brought from Daniel’s house, and Harold spread the papers across the dining table. Some carried signatures I recognized as mine.
Others carried initials that looked close but were slightly wrong — the curve of the M different, the final stroke in Carter lacking the small upward hook I’d used since high school.
