She touched Kendra on the shoulder as she stepped away from the table.

“I’ve known Olivia since we were freshmen trying to find the science building,” Vanessa said.

“She has always been the most generous person in any room.”

I looked down at my plate while my face grew warm.

“Then she met Ethan,” Vanessa said.

Ethan reached under the table and squeezed my hand.
