I picked up my cell phone and dialed Brenda Lawson.

She answered on the second ring.

“It’s late, George,” Brenda said.

“I need you in the conference room at eight tomorrow morning,” I said.

“Is this about the hotel lease?”

“It’s about Douglas Kingsley,” I said.

“I need you to pull every public court record and commercial credit file on Kingsley Timber.”

I heard a sharp click over the line.
