Chapter 14 — Responsibility

Spencer had a word he loved, and the word was responsibility.

The way he told it, it had all begun one evening when he fell ill and Bianca stayed to care for him.

He felt vulnerable; she was there; something happened; and afterward, he decided, he had a responsibility to her.

It was his favorite word for dressing up the choices he had wanted to make all along.

Out of responsibility, he funded her brother’s company.
