It was about the end of his power to distort.
For once, in that airport, he would see the world exactly as it was, with no room to reshape it, and I wanted that moment preserved, not to torment him, but because it was the moment I stopped being a person he could lie to, forever.
I had worn that expression myself, many times, at his hands.
I did not need to see him suffer.
