I looked at Daniel’s full name printed in plain black type next to the field labeled parent on site.

“Daniel brought her here in October?” I said, looking over at Grace.

Grace kept her eyes on the floor, pulling her gray cuffs all the way over her fingers.

“He checked her into triage at six fifteen in the evening,” Dr.

Collins said, scrolling down through the physician’s notes.

“The attending doctor did an initial physical exam and put in an urgent request for a pelvic ultrasound.”

“We never got an ultrasound report,” I said.
