I lived alone.

I laughed.

Got up.

Made coffee.

Opened the curtains.

Light filled the room.

Nothing hidden.

Nothing staged.

Nothing waiting in a drawer to explain a life I did not recognize.

And for the first time in a very long time, waking up alone did not feel like loss.

It felt like the truth.
