The email had been sent from Selina’s personal account, to her mother, four days before she filed the emergency protective order.
Phoebe printed it and laid it flat on her desk, and David and I read it together.
It was not, in the legal sense, a confession — it did not say I am going to forge evidence. But it contained one sentence that no innocent reading could survive.
I need everything to look severe enough right out of the gate, or it’s going to be impossible to keep him away from the kids and the company’s accounts.
