Episode 2. THE WOMAN IN THE HALL

I reached the fourth floor moments later and stayed hidden around the corner. Standing outside Room 407 was an elegant woman dressed in a dark navy suit. My stomach twisted. I expected her to kiss him.

 

Instead, she handed Daniel a sealed envelope. I strained to hear their conversation. Then I heard Daniel speak. “Does my wife know anything?”

The woman’s answer sent chills down my spine. “Not yet,” she replied. “But she will after tonight.” My eyes filled with tears.

Who was she? And what exactly would I know after tonight? Before I could understand anything else, the two of them entered Room 407 together and locked the door.

Shaking, I slowly approached. Then, from inside the room, I heard something impossible. Someone had just said my name.
