That broke him. He dropped to his knees in front of Camila, weeping. “Please forgive me, Camila. I’ll give it all back, sign the divorce papers today, resign quietly — just pay off those private lenders before they come for me.”
Camila stepped out of his reach. “I’ll never spend another dollar cleaning up your deliberate crimes. The corporation will meet its legal obligations. Your personal debts are yours to answer for.”
“I’m still your husband!” Edwin screamed.
“You were my husband when you locked me in the house,” Camila said coldly. “You were my husband when you mocked my dying father. You chose, again and again, to be my enemy instead.”
Edwin lowered his head. The meek woman he’d tormented was gone for good.
