Chapter 9 — The Folder

The next morning I drove to the townhouse I shared with Andrew to pack my things while he was out.

I filled two suitcases with my clothes, a box with my medical textbooks, and gathered up my lab coats, and I was struck, doing it, by how little of a footprint I had left in that house after two entire years.

It was as though I had been a guest there the whole time, and had never quite been allowed to move in.
