Inside The Mysteries Of Göbekli Tepe, The Oldest Temple In The World
Göbekli Tepe is not a finished subject.
The excavations that have been conducted, extensive and productive as they have been, have explored only a fraction of what the site contains, and the ongoing research is continuously revising and deepening the understanding of the site.
Geophysical survey has revealed the outlines of many more enclosures beneath the mound than have been excavated.
Each new enclosure represents potentially new information about the architectural tradition, the variety of animal imagery, and the spatial organization of the site.
Future excavations will inevitably produce new evidence that complicates or revises the current picture.
