Just One Hour
The difficulty started with the bottles.
Sabrina made them one way. I made them another — I warmed them, because Ava had disliked cold bottles in those eleven days, and I had learned that, and I was proud of having learned it.
Sabrina had been giving her room-temperature bottles since she was three weeks old.
That was the entire disagreement. Room temperature versus warm. And it took me until February to understand that it was never about the bottle.
“She doesn’t like them cold,” I said.
“She’s fine with them, Margaret. She’s had them like that her whole life.”
