I chose the lounge of a downtown hotel near the river — open late, with quiet booths far from anyone my parents might recognize. Terrence arrived forty minutes later in blue scrubs beneath a dark coat.
He saw me in the corner and hurried over. “You look like you’ve been standing in the rain.”
“I was.” He sat across from me. “Is this about Sydney?”
I placed my phone between us. “It’s about all of them.” Concern deepened across his face. I pressed play.
