“You were paying for the wedding.”
“I paid for my agreement. You guaranteed yours.” He flipped through the pages quickly. Mom leaned over his shoulder. “You said there was one bill,” she whispered.
“There were separate schedules,” I replied. “Elias advised both of you to read them.”
Dad looked up. “Where would someone like you get the money to pay for all this?” Even as the room watched him lose control, the old hierarchy remained in his voice.
“Someone like me?”
“You fix computer problems.”
