PART 19
A Winter Visit to the Tower
By January I knew the names of more people at Ashford Tower than I had known when I first inherited it.
I visited for a staff luncheon after the accessibility project reached its first milestone.
Denise introduced me to electricians, receptionists, mechanics, and a woman who ran a small café in the lobby.
The café owner, Farah, told me she’d nearly lost her lease during the pandemic and that Eleanor had approved a temporary arrangement to keep the business open.
“Your aunt was strict about agreements,” Farah said, “but she listened when I explained what was happening.”
