We did not manufacture their ruin.

We only ended their invisibility — turned the lights on in a room they had always assumed would stay dark, and let everyone finally see what had been in it the whole time.

That is not vengeance.

That is just the truth, finally getting the attention it had always deserved.

Chapter 16 — The Precinct

There was one more thing I wanted to do myself, and it was to walk back into that precinct where Detective Miller had told me there was nothing to be done.
