“I told him county personnel records require a formal public records request filed through the clerk of court,” Arthur said.

“He was very aggressive about it.

He claimed you were misrepresenting your authority to state officials and said he’d be filing a formal ethics complaint against you by the end of the week.”

“Did he leave a written request?”

“He faxed a demand letter from his firm,” Arthur said, reaching into his drawer and handing me a sheet of thermal paper.

“He claims you’re using public court resources to pursue a personal feud.”
